About Me
Well I figured that some of you may be curious about 'who is this Jim Watts?' so here's an introduction to me, and why I'm where I am now...
Being exceptionally shy which lead to anxieties and depression for as long as I can remember, I experienced abuse as a young child and lived in a narcissistic household. But like many I only came to terms with this when I was a grown man.
My memories are evidence that although I loved and excelled at sports (which I still do), school was personally very challenging, and you’d find me acting daft just looking for laughs - external validation to deflect what was going on internally. Then into college I’d often turn around at the doors and leave due to my anxiety levels peaking, and I’d either going home or to the pub. I somehow managed to come out with full qualifications and successful grades, but into adulthood my struggles continued, and I found self-medicating gave me the confidence which suited my persistent desire to be liked and fit in.
At the age of 17 I played both rugby codes at pro and semi but come post game I was the first in the bar. During the week I’d train like a mad man. It was my happy place physically, mentally and it gave me a purpose. This was my routine.
But by the time I was in my late 30's, I had decided this could not continue and sought professional help from a few psychology professionals, CBT therapy. I was also diagnosed with ADHD. It was during this time that I realised the only person that can change me is me.
I have learnt a lot over the years through these so-called experiences, and by piecing together the areas, methods, routines, and habits which worked and were simple to live by without hassle I created the 3 Pillars to Thrive: Fitness, Habits/Nutrition and Mental health.
It is the 3 Pillars to Thrive that we will work with on my new 12-week course. Through guiding, coaching, and tailoring, we will ensure that your new routines and habits work to support you and your needs, as you progress through life with business.
